House Serrett is a noble house from Silverhill in the Westerlands. It is one of the principal houses sworn to Casterly Rock. They blazon their arms with a peacock in his pride on cream. Their words are "I Have No Rival".
History[]
House Serrett was formed by the union of First Men and Andal nobles during the Andal invasion. The mother of Ser Harras Harlaw was a Serrett.
Lord Rupert Serrett lead House Serrett by the time of Roberts Rebellion, a known brute he gained fame during the War of the Ninepenny Kings slaying the claimant Prince of Myr Liomond Lashare, Rupert's slaughter during the Sack of King's Landing killing nobles and small folk alike earned him the monicker "The Bloody Fist, after his death in 286 AC his eldest son Ser Arron succeeded him.
As Lord Serrett, Arron lead the levies of Silverhill in the taking of Harlaw, many called him jokingly "The Harlaw Slayer" due to the many Harlaws that died bloodied by his sword, Arron joined the Westerlands army that invaded the Riverlands in 298 AC, participating on different battles and seeings his cousins be captured in the Battle of the Camps.
Lord Arron personally holded Pinkmaiden against the Northmen armies, the keep never falling to the attempts of Marq Piper, then he took part in the Battle of the Blackwater alongside his liege, Arron was really angry at being passed up for the post of Master of Laws promised to him before the battle, retiring to Silverhill after that.
Lord Serrett's bitterness extended to the Swyfts who he saw as up jumped knights that stole from his house a Lannister marriage, that Ser Harys is an utter fool only adds to this emnity, Arron didn't go to Tommen's wedding or Tywin's funeral sending his cousins or vassals instead.
After the fall of King's Landing and the death of King Tommen, Lord Arron declared neutrality and refused to swear allegiance to a dubious character such as Aegon Targaryen, Arron's sister Tysha the Lady Regent of House Ball revealed to him on a visit that the new King was a Blackfyre that being why House Ball supports him.
House Serrett and its vassals would remain exceptical of the reappearance of Tyrek Lannister relations remaining tense for a decade with Arron even stopping paying taxes to Casterly Rock and would only side with him during the War of the Rock by the promise of marriage with one of Tyrek's children.
House Serrett only sent 300 men to the War of the Waters, the token support just not to be denounced by the Crown, with no Serrett taking direct part, the troops were lead by Alan Lansdale one of their vassals.
Lord Arron secured the surrender of House Payne convincing his cousin in law to betray Martyn's forces mid battle, Arron himself commanded the Loyalist army scattering the resistance of the Forlorn Five, it was Arron himself who gave Martyn Lannister his famous scar, further rewards for House Serrett included disputed lands with House Swyft like the Toll Pass, Wellsmere and the vassalage of House Foote.
With the death of Lord Arron in 354, his descendants the heirs of Dunaver Serrett would fight amongst themselves, leaving the third son to take the reigns as he secured the support of the vassals sending his older brothers to the Wall.
