Gwyn born in 370 AC moments before her twin Pia, into a fatherless household. Her mother was a commoner who lived under a minor lord at his estate. Her early life was spent here, watching her mother work around the kitchens and fields, while playing lords and ladies with her sister and other children around the property.
In 375 AC a traveling knight from the Band of Blue had entered the estate seeking hospitality for the night, which the minor lord granted freely. Gwyn and her sister had oft seen knights and nobles occasional pass by, but this one had taken a particular interest in them and their mother. The following morning, the twins had been told this knight was Lord Polliver Payne, and also was in fact their father. Further still, they would be accompanying him back to Payne Hall, where he would then resume his lordly duties.
