Maiya Gelin Starseeker is the Starseeker of the Wavedancer, one of the friends of Caire Taalan, who took them in in Yi Ti. She is twelve years old, and has a remarkable ability to judge weather and read the stars, thus her title, however informal it might be.

Youthful and attractive, Maiya has dark slanted eyes with pitch black hair. Her skin is the colour of rich cream. She is tall, even for male standards, and has adopted the tradition of Summer Islander folk.
History[]
Caire first encountered Maiya in Yi Ti and for unexplained reasons offered her a chance to join her crew. The girl accepted, reluctantly at first, but quickly rose up the ranks and was named Starseeker for her extraordinary ability and guidance and navigation, as well as her skill with voice, which always made the crew happy with her exotic songs. She was also given a chance to choose a last name by Caire, and when prompted she named herself Gelin.
