Gyllen Prestayn is an originally Braavosi noble, and a nephew to Mero Prestayn.
Appearance and Character[]
Gyllen Prestayn shares a somewhat similar appearance to his uncle, with the same shape of eyes and nose. Otherwise, he doesn't share much else with him. Gyllen has the blue eyes and blonde hair of his mother, though he inherited his early beard-growing from his father's side. His Braavosi accent has completely faded over the years.
History[]
Gyllen Prestayn was born in Braavos, to his father Brusco and his mother Ferrega. He spent most of his early years at home, being tutored on stewardship and other boring matters. Gyllen occasionally struck out to see his uncle, Mero, who he treated practically like a cousin.
After House Prestayn had a conflict with another family, which resulted in the untimely passing of his sister and mother, Gyllen was taken by his uncle Mero to Westeros at around the age of seven. Accompanying them was an old retainer called Tobho, who found shelter for Gyllen with some old trade partners of the Prestayns in the Stormlands. Mero wandered off to find his fortune around Westeros, stopping by the Stormlands to see Gyllen occasionally and sending him some funds.

Gyllen's mentor and father figure, Tobho, fell into disease earlier in the year. Going to seek help from his uncle, Gyllen said his goodbyes to the family who had sheltered him and left for Oldtown. He took Tobho with him as well.
