Cornfield is the seat of House Swyft in the Westerlands. It is the site of a modest castle surrounded by leagues of crop fields dedicated predominately to grains such as corn and barley.

Location[]

It is located southeast of Casterly Rock, east of Crakehall, and northwest of Red Lake. To the north Clegane Hall can be found, amongst the mountains.

Historical members of House Swyft[]

House Swyft of Cornfield is a knightly house from Cornfield in the westerlands. They are among the principal houses sworn to House Lannister of Casterly Rock. Their arms depict a blue bantam rooster on yellow.

Ser Addison Hill, the Bastard of Cornfield, was a legendary brother of the Kingsguard during the reign of Aegon I Targaryen, who eventually rose to the position of Lord Commander.

During the Dance of the Dragons, House Swyft was apparently a full-fledged noble house. Lord Swyft fought for the greens and died in the Battle by the Lakeshore.

Ser Harrold Swyft participated in the tourney at Ashford Meadow in 209 AC.

Layout[]

The walls of Cornfield are constructed from stone sourced from the mountains to the north. Connecting to an offshot of the Ocean Road between Highgarden and Lannisport, the western wall contains a large gate flanked by two guard towers.

Within the walls there is a sept and a blacksmith run by Dale and his two apprentices, Jack and Orten. There are also two taverns - The Blue Bird and The Golden Cock, as well as the stables, barracks and training ground. At the centre, within another smaller wall is the keep, where the members of House Swyft reside.

Recent Events[]

It is currently resided over by Lord Owen Swyft, who became Lord after the death of his father Hugo in 380AC.
